QB Anderson, Cards agree to 2-year deal (AP)
Derek Anderson is joining the Arizona Cardinals knowing he begins as the backup quarterback to Matt Leinart with a chance to push for the starting job. Anderson, released by the Cleveland Browns, agreed to a two-year deal. Leinart had been the only quarterback on Arizona's roster following the retirement of Kurt Warner.

NFL mulling 2 possessions in playoffs OT (AP)
NFL owners will vote next week whether to allow each team a possession in overtime in the playoffs if the team winning the OT coin toss kicks a field goal on the first series. Previously, the game would end whenever either side scores, as happened in the NFC championship game in January, with New Orleans beating Minnesota on Garrett Hartley's kick.

Former Eagles S Jones joining Bucs (AP)
Free agent safety Sean Jones has agreed to a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team announced the deal Wednesday. Jones played for Philadelphia last season after spending the first five years of his career with the Cleveland Browns. He started nine games with the Eagles, finishing with 72 tackles, one sack and two interceptions.

Redskins sign QB Grossman (AP)
Free-agent quarterback Rex Grossman signed a one-year contract with the Washington Redskins on Wednesday. Grossman spent last season with the Houston Texans, where he worked with new Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. Shanahan held the same position with the Texans and now will be an assistant to his father, new Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan.
