Tiger's Back - 2010 Masters

by Ezycat 17. March 2010 08:48

Tiger will return and end his self-imposed "indefinite break" from golf April 8 by playing in the Masters.

Good or badConfused

PGA has got to love it, ratings will probably go through the roof! Three-time major champion Ernie Els said Woods "will be embraced by the players" when he returns. Woods' fellow pros know how the PGA Tour has capitalized on the "Tiger Effect," which has boosted prize money from $65.95 million in 1996 to $279.8 million this year.

What will the fans think? I'am sure the reaction will be mixed, but you cannot deny his golfing skills exceed most of the players. Will Elin be there? Tiger say's he is trying to salvage his marriageLove

Give us your comments, let us know what you think.

Can Tiger Survive?

by Paul 11. January 2010 10:48

What is the future for Tiger Woods?

Can Tiger Woods survive the pending divorce, missing teeth, playmate claim she's seen Tiger with men and overall embarrassment for the poor way he has handled his personal life.

Granted, he is a great golfer, but can golfing greatness over come  his completely poor judgment as a grown adult.  Also, should the PGA support someone who has stooped to his low levels of conduct?  Most sponsors, very wisely, have already said no to continued support of Tiger.  Sports celebrities should display a reasonable amount of maturity and proper conduct.

If the PGA returns Tiger to the tour without any punitive action, I personally believe they are putting money before morals.  How can they let a professional player simply return with all the misconduct allegations that continue to surface?

PGA player feeling will continue to surface regarding Tiger.  A quote from Jerry Kelly, "He is not the sport. Golf will move on. When Tiger Woods retires, no matter if it's tomorrow or 10 years or 20 years from now, the game of golf will have its stars. The game of golf will survive."

Tiger, Tiger, Tiger.... What are you doing?!

by Ezycat 8. December 2009 12:56
How can someone so famous who hates being in the media, and begs for privacy do something so stupid. I mean really, did he think cheating was a good way to stay low profile. If he wanted this life style that's his choice, but did he have to drag his wife and kids into it. I have really lost a lot of respect for him as a person, although he will always be one of the greatest golfers to ever live. I really wish at this point he would at least have the b**ls to do the right thing and fess up to everthing. He should have just stuck to playing golf!

Medicus Golf Swing Trainers

by Tracy 16. June 2009 11:28

Medicus has the reputation for being the leading resource in all types of golf training aids. They were voted the #1 swing trainer by golf professionals a whopping seven years in a row. Currently Medicus offers the finest weighted training clubs, dual hinge training clubs, DVD’s, CD’s, grip aids, and putting aids. Any and all of these training aids will help you achieve your goal of precise putting and strong, accurate drives and fairway shots.

With such a reputation at stake, how do these training aids work? The Medicus DualHinge driver and clubs are designed to "break" when it detects something is wrong at any of the 9 breakpoints of your swing. The dual hinge on the driver and clubs is designed so one hinge works for the back swing and one hinge works for the down swing allowing you to quickly realize at what points in your swing your problems lie. These golf swing trainers identify the weaknesses in your backswing while working on timing and rhythm. The club is also adjustable. It works on improving your down swing and every golfer knows a great down swing is the key to power and accuracy. These clubs will quickly improve the consistency of your swing from the beginning to the end and you will be hitting longer, more accurate shots in no time.

Medicus’s putter trainer is a dual handled aid that temporarily attached to your putter. The dual-handled putting trainer trains the movement of your shoulders, so that your putter only moves back and forth, without the slightest bit of sideways motion. It also separates your hands allowing the lead hand to take over naturally, the wrists will not break, and the triangle formed by the arms and shoulders will be maintained throughout the stroke. This trains you to putt perfectly straight, keeping your ball in line.

Medicus PowerMax weighted swing trainers are full-length hittable clubs that can also be used as a real golf club. The proprietary weighting provides a soft "real club" feel, while allowing you to actually hit balls on the range. With our "Inertial/Weight Shift", you will develop a proper wrist cock and release, building pro-like distance.

You can also use Medicus Golf’s electronic gadgets to help you play a better golf game. The Medicus PowerMeter allows you to increase your club head speed through precise monitoring during training and actual game play. See immediate and accurate results consistently with each swing you take. Monitor your progress and fine-tune your stroke to achieve the perfect amount of power required to help get the ball farther down the fairway. EDataCoach is an easy to carry portable unit the size of a cell phone. This device provides you a lifetime of up-to-date information, tracks your progress, and helps you to focus on the parts of your game that clearly need improvement. This unit also delivers a multitude of statistics that can be used with your live coach to determine the next steps of your golf game development.

If a better golf swing, lower score, and better enjoyment of the game of golf is what you are looking for, then Medicus swing trainers are the best golf trainers to invest in to achieve that satisfaction you are looking for. Don't wait, get your Medicus Golf swing trainer and be playing a better game of golf in no time.

Golf Tournaments are Fun

by Paul 14. January 2009 20:15

If you live in the South, e.g. Florida, golf tournaments are already starting.  I am scheduled to play in a golf tournament on Jan24, 2009 at Pine Ridge, a golf course in Citrus County Florida.  This is certainly not the time of year for a northern golf tournament; they would have to remove the snow and ice from the golf course first.  Golf tournaments are year around in Florida and actually most enjoyable during the winter months because sometimes the summer heat can be unbearable.  Some of the best ones are in March, April and May, with one of my favorites being the Citrus Score Annual Tournament, scheduled for March 23 this year.

Why do I play in golf tournaments?  Biggest reason, have some fun with good friends and fellow golfers.  Second reason, even a lousy golfer can look good when you play “best ball”, providing you have a least one decent golfer in the group.  If all group members play lousy golf, well have fun and don’t expect to win anything.  My fellow golfing friend, Frank, and I played a golf tournament some time ago where we were paired with a golfer that had a handicap of three.  Frank and I have a handicap of between 18 and 20.  The three of us together did quite well that day completing second in the tournament.  The foursome that beat us had a one stroke advantage; perhaps their pencil was little sharper, or they purchased more mulligan’s?

Let use not forget one of the best reasons to attend a golf tournament, the food and drinks.  Good tournaments have lots of food, plenty of beer and sometimes liquor.  I have a friend who told me of the Dewar’s Scotch golf tournament he attended which had a shot available at each hole; wow!  Personally, I would have trouble after the first four or five holes.  Knowing my friend, he probably took advantage of a shot of Dewar’s at every hole.

Then there are the golf tournaments with the beer carts, sometimes staffed with “Hooters” girls if you are lucky.  Beer, “Hooters” girls and golf, doesn’t get much better.  Seem to remember one time we got lost trying to find the next tee.

Finally, when the tournament is over the golf tournament awards are waiting.  These prizes, which are the fruits of your arduous day on the golf course, while drinking beer and consuming large amounts of food, are the final event that brings to closure a good day out with friends and fellow golfers.  What makes up these prizes?  The best usually being golf club sets, drivers, putters and golf bags to the worst I ever saw being a putter that appeared to have been stored in someone’s attic several years prior to it being used as a golf tournament award.  Then of course there are the door prizes, which usually consist of free passes to game parks that you have no interest in visiting.

Golf tournaments are fun.  If you haven’t played in one don’t miss out on the opportunity to have fun with friends and fellow golfers, and occasionally win a golf tournament award.

Golfing in the Woods

by Ezycat 20. December 2008 11:48

I have a golf partner who is an absolute master at playing golf between, in and about the trees. He has been given the name TiTW, which stands for "Tiger in the Woods"

The natural environment of Citrus County Florida offers a large amount of oak trees. The University of Florida IFAS Extension tells me there are nineteen species of oaks native to Florida. It appears we have most of them in Citrus County. With this heavy natural environment of Oaks and some plantings, golf course design in Citrus County fully utilizes oaks to surround fairways, create doglegs and offer obstacles. What's even better, there is minimal underbrush, depending on the golf course, so one can play between the trees.

TiTW starts his trip through the woods with his drive, which booms, as a strong fade, and could easily reach 250 yards were it not for wooded obstacles: tree trunks, branches, leaves and occasional Spanish moss. Although, TiTW has become a master with some of his slicing tee shots traversing through the densest of trees without even a leave falling and the ball landing safely in the fairway some 225 to 250 yards from the tee box. However, once in the woods TiTW's game plan is move towards the green between the trees, pitching out into the fairway is for cowards, moving forward through the woods is the manly approach.

On the occasion when TiTW's drive has gone very deep into the woods and there is underbrush, which makes it hard to find the ball, and even more difficult to hit the ball I have seen TiTW turn golf carts into 4 wheel drive jungle cruisers. Amazingly, most of the time he finds his ball along with many others. Although, sometimes we loose site of him and his golf cart, not to forget his playing partner who is hanging on for dear life. And let us not forget, USGA rules allow up to five minutes to look for a lost ball; perhaps that rule needs reexamination.

TiTW's playing in the woods and slicing problem off the tee has a lot to do with the golf equipment he uses. TiTW, a strong middle-aged man, uses a driver with a senior shaft. This in conjunction with his excessively strong swing and poor weight transfer is a natural combination for a slice. The mechanics of your golf swing is extremely important to properly strike a golf ball, but improper golf equipment can make the overall result worse.

We all love TiTW, and will always enjoy his playing antics, however we cannot help but think that he would enjoy the game of golf more if his swing and golf equipment were improved.

Golf Gifts and Decor Make Great Christmas Gifts

by Tracy 26. November 2008 20:21
November 23, the day after Thanksgiving, also know as "Black Friday", starts the holiday shopping countdown for 2008. Only 32 shopping days left until Christmas. What is going to make the perfect gift this year? Golf becomes more popular every year, more and more people play all the time, watch it on television, and talk about it, making golf gifts and decor a great theme for holiday gift shopping. With a large selection of golf gifts available for the holidays it will be easy to find that perfect present. Here are some great gift giving ideas. Golf Pictures – Pictures of famous golf courses such as Pebble Beach, Augusta National, TPC Sawgrass, or St. Andrews will let you enjoy rich landscapes of the most gorgeous golf courses in the world from any room in your home or office. Anyone with an eye for art will enjoy such stunning pictures. For the collector of golf memorabilia choose authentic autographed PGA and LPGA Player pictures of some of the greatest players of golf such as Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Annika Sorenstam. Golf Decor – Know anyone who has made that infamous hole in one shot? If so, a personalized hole in one plaque is the perfect way to capture that special moment permanently. Top 100 Courses plaques is the ultimate golfer challenge. Set a goal to play at all 100 courses in the US or World. For the golf ball collector choose a beautiful wooden golf ball display case, add a special touch with a personalized name. Golf memorabilia buffs will love a set of Bobby Jones “Grand Slam” clubs or bronze sculpture. Golf Equipment and Accessories – Every golfer is always in need (want) of the latest and greatest out on the market. No golfer will turn down a set of new clubs! If your looking to get something a little less pricy, you can choose from golf headcovers, umbrellas, divot repair tools, golf bags, equipment organizers, coolers, push carts, or travel cases. Don’t forget every golfer at some point in time will need a golf ball retriever, even if they don’t want to admit it. Golf Training Aids – Training aids are great gifts for many reasons; they allow you to practice your game year round even if you can’t make it to the golf course. True golfers would play 24/7 if they could. Indoor/outdoor golf nets, mats, practice balls, and putting greens improve your game from the home, office, or backyard. Training books, videos, tapes, and CD’s are perfect aids for new or seasoned golfers. Golf Gifts – Everyone enjoys a good laugh, golfer or not. Funny gag and novelty golf gifts will bring a smile to anyone’s face at an affordable price and make great presents for the office gift exchange party. Golf games such as Monopoly, Dominoes, Par Darts, or Caddy Shack Trivia not only make a great holiday gift, but will also be a hit at your next party. Watches for him and her are perfect for the couple that plays golf. Now that you have all these great ideas what is the easiest, most affordable way get them?
