Healthcare - Next Step lawsuits to test constitutionality

by Tracy 22. March 2010 20:15

Ten states plan to file a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the new health care reform bill, Florida's attorney general announced Monday.

Bill McCollum, the Republican attorney general under fellow Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, told a news conference that the lawsuit would be filed once President Obama signs the health care bill into law. He said he'll be joined by his counterparts in Alabama, Nebraska, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Washington.

What will be tested?

1. How can the federal government force a person to purchase health care or fine them if they do not. Obama is suppose to support human rights??? Sounds like China.

2. Federal Government will force a large part of new health care costs on to the States without their approval. Does this violate the 10th amendment

What will be the result?

We are suppose to be a free democracy. Obama and the current congress majority seem to have forgot our basic freedom: "The Right To Choose". Forcing someone to purchase and insurance policy is socialism if not communism.

United States....A Third World Country?

by Tracy 18. March 2010 13:55

As is very apperant, the United States has many problems to overcome. The US has always been considered a power house, but is that only our perception? It seems we have lost the power house status and are mearly a credit card with no limit. As we continue to overcharge to bail out many third world countries around the globe, as well as our nation, have we crossed a line of no return. It seems as people sit waiting in emergency rooms for hours unattended that we become more like other third world countries everyday. When will a time come that there is no medical care available except to the wealthy? As the middle class slowly disappears and the gap between wealthy and poor gets larger, aren't we becoming more like a third world society? Is it possible that as jobs disappear to other countries, we will become obsolete?

Health Care - Congress, President Out of Control

by Ezycat 12. March 2010 15:45

Today's news headlines, "Democrats Planning for Health Bill Vote Next Week".

President out of Control:

The White House said Mr. Obama had delayed his departure for a trip to Guam, Indonesia and Australia to March 21, from Thursday, so that he could keep the pressure on Congress, shortening the trip and not taking his family along — all clear signals that he wants this seen as a make-or-break moment.

Even Better, useless speaker of the house:

“I’m delighted that the president will be here for the passage of the bill,” Ms. Pelosi said. “It’s going to be historic. And it would not be possible without his tremendous, tremendous leadership, his persistence, his concern for the American people, always guided by his statement that we will measure our success by the progress being made by America’s working families.”

All polls say the American public majority is against passage of this bill, but Obama and Pelosi continue to force the bill; unbelievable!   I don't know about anyone else, but I continue to reiterate my disgust.

I hope Americans go to the polls when these politicians are due and remove all of them!

Common ground at health summit stays barren

by Ezycat 26. February 2010 10:02

Health care summit, congress and president still frozen with snow and ice in Washington

Some priceless comments:

  • Republicans - Democrats should scrap the bill and start over again on a clean sheet of paper.
  • Democrats - It is imperative to act, and quickly, some Americans don't have the time for use to start over.
  • Nancy Pelosi - Many Americans are at the end of the line.
  • President Obama - Unless Republicans make significant compromises, Democrats would press ahead.  Does this mean the President will attempt to use the procedure known as reconciliation, which certainly will spark more partisan recrimination.  Reconcilation is susposedly for resolving budget issues.  But it appears the Democrats have divised a plan to use reconcilation to pass health care reform.  Are they in violation of any laws or constitutional errors?

What is the matter with this picture.  As a voter I am totally disgusted with all of them.  Grade school children get along better on the playground than our, susposedly educated and mature, congressional representives.
