Healthcare - Next Step lawsuits to test constitutionality

by Tracy 22. March 2010 20:15

Ten states plan to file a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the new health care reform bill, Florida's attorney general announced Monday.

Bill McCollum, the Republican attorney general under fellow Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, told a news conference that the lawsuit would be filed once President Obama signs the health care bill into law. He said he'll be joined by his counterparts in Alabama, Nebraska, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Washington.

What will be tested?

1. How can the federal government force a person to purchase health care or fine them if they do not. Obama is suppose to support human rights??? Sounds like China.

2. Federal Government will force a large part of new health care costs on to the States without their approval. Does this violate the 10th amendment

What will be the result?

We are suppose to be a free democracy. Obama and the current congress majority seem to have forgot our basic freedom: "The Right To Choose". Forcing someone to purchase and insurance policy is socialism if not communism.

United States....A Third World Country?

by Tracy 18. March 2010 13:55

As is very apperant, the United States has many problems to overcome. The US has always been considered a power house, but is that only our perception? It seems we have lost the power house status and are mearly a credit card with no limit. As we continue to overcharge to bail out many third world countries around the globe, as well as our nation, have we crossed a line of no return. It seems as people sit waiting in emergency rooms for hours unattended that we become more like other third world countries everyday. When will a time come that there is no medical care available except to the wealthy? As the middle class slowly disappears and the gap between wealthy and poor gets larger, aren't we becoming more like a third world society? Is it possible that as jobs disappear to other countries, we will become obsolete?

Health Care - Congress, President Out of Control

by Ezycat 12. March 2010 15:45

Today's news headlines, "Democrats Planning for Health Bill Vote Next Week".

President out of Control:

The White House said Mr. Obama had delayed his departure for a trip to Guam, Indonesia and Australia to March 21, from Thursday, so that he could keep the pressure on Congress, shortening the trip and not taking his family along — all clear signals that he wants this seen as a make-or-break moment.

Even Better, useless speaker of the house:

“I’m delighted that the president will be here for the passage of the bill,” Ms. Pelosi said. “It’s going to be historic. And it would not be possible without his tremendous, tremendous leadership, his persistence, his concern for the American people, always guided by his statement that we will measure our success by the progress being made by America’s working families.”

All polls say the American public majority is against passage of this bill, but Obama and Pelosi continue to force the bill; unbelievable!   I don't know about anyone else, but I continue to reiterate my disgust.

I hope Americans go to the polls when these politicians are due and remove all of them!

Common ground at health summit stays barren

by Ezycat 26. February 2010 10:02

Health care summit, congress and president still frozen with snow and ice in Washington

Some priceless comments:

  • Republicans - Democrats should scrap the bill and start over again on a clean sheet of paper.
  • Democrats - It is imperative to act, and quickly, some Americans don't have the time for use to start over.
  • Nancy Pelosi - Many Americans are at the end of the line.
  • President Obama - Unless Republicans make significant compromises, Democrats would press ahead.  Does this mean the President will attempt to use the procedure known as reconciliation, which certainly will spark more partisan recrimination.  Reconcilation is susposedly for resolving budget issues.  But it appears the Democrats have divised a plan to use reconcilation to pass health care reform.  Are they in violation of any laws or constitutional errors?

What is the matter with this picture.  As a voter I am totally disgusted with all of them.  Grade school children get along better on the playground than our, susposedly educated and mature, congressional representives.

Health Bill Passes The House

by Paul 8. November 2009 08:38

The legislation being passed by the Obama administration, with the help of foolish democrats lead the a extremely liberal Nancy Pelosi will burden the US taxpayers for time immortal.  Who is going to pay for all of this???  Obama says the additional taxes for those making over $250K will fund this.  I don't know the exact numbers, but this bill is suspose to cost close to one trillion dollars over ten years.  Yes wall street is rich, but I don't think they are that rich.  LET ME HAVE YOUR COMMENTS.

SOME COMMENTS FROM USA Today addressing the passage of this bill:

nonnonsense

This is what you should do, if this bill passes, quit the job you have and start up your own business. Go on the pimp option for healthcare so you have others paying for that expense for you.

Declare bankruptcy because libs are too stupid to run a business and be productive then become a stay at home couch potato. You won't have to worry about your health coverage because you have already enrolled in the pimp option.

Government healthcare kills people.

We have the statistics from Canada and Britain. Get cancer or have heart problems there,
and you are significantly more likely to die.

THIS GARBAGE WILL NEVER MAKE IT PAST THE SENATE.
***********
I wouldn't bet on that. There are more traitors in the Senate, than in Congress. The bailouts proved that. Congress is packed full of wimps that are more afraid of the Lobbiest than the People, otherwise they would have stood by their inital vote when the bailouts (that most of us didn't want) were shoved down our throats. We have been betrayed in Washington, plain and simple. I wonder what they'd do if we all just quit paying their taxes to pay for all of this BS. Where is that Fed Audit? Get rid of them, and the source of all of this corruption will be shut down.

If this bill is signed into law by Obama, what the Republicans sweep up in the 2010 elections. Most Americans are opposed to government-mandated health care, and have rallied together all over this country to oppose it. It seems that the Democrats either don't get it, or just simply do not care what the American people think. Americans are tired of having these things forced down their throats when they do not want it to begin with. Those who do support this are not looking at the big picture. All they see is healthcare for everyone. They do not see, nor do they care about the costs of such a program, or the ramifications to our already weakened economy. When it finally clicks, and they get it, they are going to be wondering how this ever happened. If this passes, it is going to push the economy further down than it already is. Live and learn, people.

Government healthcare kills people. We have statistics from Canada and Britain.

Try getting cancer or having heart problems there. You will be significantly more likely to die.

THERE WERE OVER 6000 COMMENTS, I COULD NOT FIND ANY POSITIVE, GUESS THE DEMOCRATS DON'T LISTEN TO THEIR VOTERS!

Health Care Bill

by Paul 13. October 2009 16:03

Health care bill passes Senate panel 14-9.  What does this really mean?  The Senate Finance Committee, led by Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., voted to approval a proposal that would provide health care coverage for 29 million uninsured Americans, which will cost $829 billion dollars over 10 years, while somehow reducing budget deficits by $81 billion over 10 years.

Sounds like monetry "smoke and mirrors" and more congressional funny money numbers.  If something is going to cost $829 billion how can it save $81 billion???  The details of this bill will probably make medicare look easy to understand and who pays for what is a mystery.

Health care in the US now makes up approximately 14% of our gross domestic product, while in Japan it is somewhere in the range of 7% GDP.  The cost for health coverage and care is totally out of control and the government solution appears to be "spend more money".  When is someone going to look into why the cost is so high, before spending more money?

One final thought for senior citizens, based on David Jackson USA today article:  •Cost of premiums. Older people would pay more and younger Americans less under the finance bill compared with the other bills.
